Editorial Standards
How we practice journalism on NaijaGoodNews.
Last updated: 15 July 2026
We align with professional press ethics in Nigeria (including the spirit of the Code of Practice for Nigerian Journalists) and international verification norms for a premium publisher.
Accuracy & fairness
Facts are checked before publication. Sources are identified whenever safe. We distinguish news, analysis, and sponsored content. We seek comment from subjects of critical claims when practicable.
Independence
Editorial decisions sit with the newsroom, not advertisers or tip submitters. Sponsored or partner content is labeled (see story sponsor disclosures).
Corrections & right of reply
Significant errors are corrected promptly and logged on our Corrections page and on the story. Subjects may request a reply via Complaints.
Hate, harm, minors & legality
We do not publish content that incites violence or unlawful discrimination. We respect privacy and dignity, especially of minors and private individuals: seek guardian consent where practicable, anonymise children by default, and weigh public interest carefully.
Sponsored content (ARCON)
Paid placements are labeled and separated from independent reporting. See Advertising standards. Campaigns requiring ARCON approval are not served until marked approved in our CMS.
Conflicts
Staff disclose conflicts. Material conflicts are managed by editors or lead to reassignment.
